Kingston upon Hull Corporation Transport purchased four batches of Leyland Atlanteans between 1966 and 1968 as below:-
403 - 412 (FRH 403 - 412D) 2/66 PDR1/1 renumbered 203 - 212 12/66
213 - 227 (JRH 413 - 4127E) 1-2/67 PDR1/1
228 - 243 (NAT 228 - 243F) 1-2/68 PDR1/1
244 - 257 (PRH 244 - 257G) 12/68 - 1/69 PDR1A/1
All four batches carried Roe H44/31F bodywork with the one piece flat windscreen which gave these vehicles a singular appearance, which I find quite attractive. All four batches were delivered in the then standard streamline livery, as shown by 212, This did not sit too happily on the Atlantean bodywork. From 1974 the livery was altered to the new City transport livery shown in several photos. From the late 1970's a number of special liveries were used, and some are illustrated below.
